Our Rapid Tooling Services

Design For Manufacture

Our experienced design engineers provide you with design for manufacture advice that could save you millions of pounds on your final manufacturing costs. This front end advice may take a little longer than anticipated, but it will give you the confidence that your project is moving forward through a controlled process and not careering out of control giving you plastic parts that can’t be made cost effectively in mass volume.

Rapid Prototyping

Rapid prototyping manufacture can provide you with a number of alternatives, SLA or Stereolithography, SLS or Selective laser sintering or Vacum casting prototyping

Rapid prototyping parts generally give around 40-60% of the strength of injection moulded resins, the parts are great for:

Using this rapid prototyping service via omega plastics also allows our experienced plastic injection moulding tool makers to look over your product and help with design for manufacture.

Rapid Prototype Tooling

Sometimes rapid prototyping cannot satisfy your need for 'real' materials. This is when you need rapid prototype tooling. Our rapid tooling is mainly constructed from high-tensile aluminium with hand-loaded inserts. If the parts are relatively simple we will use our 'speed-base' system. If the parts are more challenging, we will manufacture a complete mould Design.

Injection Mould Tools

Omega is renowned for its ability to manufacture injection mould tools very quickly and effectively.

We have invested a great deal of money in providing our Master plastic injection mouldmakers with the very latest equipment and software, giving our clients the most efficient way of manufacturing injection mould tools.

Unlike other rapid tooling companies we won’t compromise your product to simplify the tooling manufacture process, we respect your design intent and will manufacture the mould tool to optimise the design integrity of your product for future high or low volume moulding manufacturing requirements.

Plastic Injection Moulding

Omega Plastics have an impressive range of plastic injection moulding capacity, ranging from 30 tonnes right up to 200 tonnes. Including all the ancillary plastic injection moulding equipment you will find in any production mould shop, moulds heaters, hot runner controllers, dryers, conveyors etc

Our highly motivated employee’s are fully trained in the use of Aluminium hand-loaded tooling giving you the longevity you need with the quality you demand.

Bridge to Production Tooling

You may wish to get your product to market ahead of your production moulds being ready. We will manufacture an aluminium or P20 mould with some automation. This kind of mould is suitable for manufacturing thousands of plastic injection mouldings at a price that is not prohibitive. It will allow you to get a quality product into the market months ahead of your orginial schedule.

Low-Volume Production Plastic Injection Moulding

We will manufacture a fully automated aluminium or P20 mold to support your low-volume production requirement. Our plastic injection moulding service will be fit for 10,000 to 100,000 parts depending upon material and your part geometry.

We will be happy even if you only need 1 part per month in 50% glass filled Nylon of a complexity that would frighten most plastic injection moulding companies - that is our industry...
